What has changed
Just a few years ago, a video with movie-style effects took a large crew, expensive equipment and weeks of post-production. Today, artificial intelligence tools generate scenes, upscale images, swap backgrounds and create camera moves in hours. The cost of using AI has also dropped sharply: according to the AI Index 2025, from Stanford University, running an AI at the level of GPT-3.5 became more than 280 times cheaper in two years.
Where AI already really helps
- Impossible or expensive scenes. A product in space, a car in a landscape that doesn't exist, a city at dawn.
- Ad variations. The same idea in several formats and versions, to test what works.
- Post-production. Image cleanup, upscaling, background replacement and color correction.
- Voice-over and music. Voices and sounds that speed up the production of short pieces.
Where it still needs people
AI speeds things up, but it doesn't decide on its own what your brand wants to say. Script, direction, picking the best takes and the final finish are still the work of people who know video. That's why we combine the two: AI to gain speed, and visual effects (VFX) done by editors to reach a cinema standard.
Precautions that make a difference
- Only use images and faces you have permission for. Real people need to give consent.
- Avoid third-party logos and brands in generated scenes.
- Check every detail: hands, text and reflections are where AI makes the most mistakes.
- Be transparent when it makes sense for your audience.
Where to start
Pick a piece you already make, like the monthly ad or the launch video, and test a version with AI and VFX. Compare the result and the production time. If you like, we can run that first test with you.
